What inspired KAthryn to be an author?
Kathryn Horsley has had a very active imagination since childhood. Her love of creating stories allowed her to continue playing pretend until her teenage years. (Yes, she played with Barbies until she was 13.) As she grew older and eventually stopped playing with toys, she found herself without an outlet to express the stories in her mind. She discovered one in her nephew, who loved hearing her stories. They would sit for hours—her talking and him listening intently. Her nephew was so enthusiastic about her writing her stories down that she began to consider the idea herself.
She didn’t believe she had the time or talent to complete a novel, so she explored other forms of storytelling. One morning, Kathryn sat down at her computer and started writing screenplays. Her nephew and niece would read them, and she even gained a small following at their school, as they shared her amateur scripts. One screenplay, in particular, featured a character describing a novel they were reading, and Kathryn realized she wanted that novel to be real and tangible. She knew she had to be the one to write it. That novel became the first book in The Soulless Series.

The Soulless Series is a captivating collection of five novels, told from a first-person perspective that immerses readers directly into the heart of the story. The first three books are already written and available in both print and Kindle formats, with the highly anticipated fourth installment scheduled for release in 2023.
The journey begins with Windows of the Soulless, where readers meet Nicolas Rider—a ruthless vampire and relentless killer. From the outset, they are drawn into his shadowed world, filled with darkness and primal, self-indulgent behavior. Nicolas fights to cling to the remnants of his humanity, though his arrogance and chivalry often entangle him in more trouble than he can handle. Yet, by the novel’s end, a glimmer of goodness within him sparks the formation of unlikely alliances.
As the series unfolds, Nicolas uncovers that deception is just the surface of a much deeper web. The stakes are raised with new enemies, family members turned foes, and forbidden lovers.
