Anne Loader McGee was an award-winning children’s author. Along with her short stories, which appeared in e-zines and The Los Angeles Times, she developed animation scripts for the European market.

Anne was a graduate of the Institute of Children's Literature and a long-standing member of the Society of Children's Book Writers & Illustrators (SCBWI). She studied writing at the American Film Institute (AFI), as well as at the University of California and Los Angeles (UCLA). She edited and co-wrote Strengthening Your Singing Voice (for adults), and co-wrote with renowned singing coach Jaime Vendera Books I through IV of the Sing Out Loud vocal instruction series for kids and teens.

Anni’s Attic won first prize in the Young People’s Division of the International Peace Award and a Bronze Medal in Historical Fiction in the 2017 Moonbeam Children’s Book Awards. The book also received First Place in the 2017 Purple Dragonfly Book Award for Historical Fiction. Her next manuscript, The Mystery at Marlatt Manor, became a finalist in the Bloom Awards sponsored by Blooming Tree Press. It also received an Honorable Mention in the 2017 Purple Dragonfly Book Award.

Originally from New Zealand, and the great granddaughter of a Maori princess, Anne made her way to the states and created a home in California.
